Miscellaneous Summer Fun - August 2015

One more miscellaneous post..

The boys and I went to see Inside Out, which was a really cute movie!

We had a play date with the Ozark friends and the Trosts' house.  Eric built the coolest fort ever, so the boys had a blast playing with their friends..

My mom and I took the boys to their first live show.  We went the The Muny and saw Beauty and the Beast.  The boys really enjoyed it, but we only made it to intermission before deciding to leave.  Because it's an outdoor theater, the shows don't start until dark, so by intermission it was already bedtime for these guys.

Another Saturday building workshop; this time at Lowe's...

Our neighbor Evan had his 8th birthday party at Painting with a Twist.  The kids had to be 6 years old (or close to it), so Charlie and the other younger siblings stayed home.  Jack was kind of nervous at first, but he ended up doing a great job!

Addi and Reghan

The finished product!!  So proud!

The same day we had a surprise 40th birthday party for my work friend Melissa.  The Kona Ice snow cone truck was there, which was a big hit with the kiddos!

Caroline, Graham, Charlie and Jack
One Sunday we took the boat up to Mark Twain Lake with the Knichel clan.  We had such a great day!  Lots of cruising, lots of tubing and lots of jumping off the boat while we were parked in a cove.  It was a great day!

Charlie's obligatory boat nap

Also in August, Charlie had a little accident.  He and Jack were downstairs playing while Jason and I met with our financial advisor (who is also Jason's friend from high school, luckily).  Charlie came up crying after he and Jack were apparently jumping on the couch and he fell off and hit his head on the coffee table.  I took him to Urgent Care and he got 3 staples in his head.  He was so tough!  He didn't cry at all while they were putting them in, just a little wince with each one.  I was so proud of him that I was the one who cried.

In late August we attended Ethan's 4th birthday party at Pump It Up.  Lots of kids, lots of energy burning, lots of fun....what's not to like??

Another day, another birthday party.  This one was for our neighbor Cayden, who was turning 8.  It was at Great Skate, so the boys got to experience their first attempt at roller skating.  (Note; Jack has in fact skated once before, when he was 2 years old.  See blog post here.  It didn't go well...)

There was a lot of this going on...but luckily no injuries!

August was a very busy month for us!!  A few more posts to come about some of the bigger events in our month, such as Jack's 6th birthday and the first day of kindergarten!!
