Lazy Weekend

We have done very little this weekend. Jason has a cold, so that's his excuse. My excuse is, um.... OK, I don't have one. Sometimes you just need to take a 5-hour nap on a Sunday, right?

We watched our nieces on Friday night, so that was fun. Mia never seizes to amaze me - our little baby genius! Paige & I played an intense (albeit never-ending) game of Monopoly. Fun times.

Saturday night we went to the Ashers' house for dinner/drinks. Again, low-key fun times. On a side note, is this sad? Almost every time we've gone to their house so far, we've driven our car. I'm telling you, it is literally around the corner! We blame it on the weather, but we'll see if we actually start walking back & forth when spring finally arrives. I guess it's fitting with the rest of our lazy weekend...

Next weekend, I promise we'll be more exciting.

New Neighbors & New Kitchen Color

Greg & Melissa are officially our neighbors! Moving weekend went off without a hitch - we had something like 14 adults and 4 kids helping out so it was a piece of cake. It's fun that they live so close! Last night we had dinner together - something that I foresee happening quite often!

Jason insisted that we buy Greg a "welcome to the neighborhood" gift:
They work surprisingly well between our houses, but I'm not sure if the "5 mile radius" claim is accurate.

We also re-painted our kitchen yesterday. The original color we painted was just too bright for Jason, so we decided to switch it. We're really happy with the new color. It's just a more mellow yellow - kind of a mustard. I'm glad to have that finished!

Happy Valentine's Day

The beautiful flowers I received from my wonderful husband:

Girls' Night & Shelves

I had a girls night Friday night with my girls from college. We had a lot of fun - we don't get to hang out that often, so it was great to catch up. All we were missing was Alison & Jenny. :(

Here are some action shots of us bowling:

Sunday, Jason finished the shelves in the basement. We got all the boxes organized and put away. The basement seems big again! It's a good feeling to be organized!

Also, I forgot to mention last weekend that Jason hung the tv in the hearth room. It's very fun, but is a little messy right now since he hasn't hidden the wires yet. It's nice to watch tv in front of the fire, which we're doing as we speak.

Snow day

We got about 8 inches of snow Thursday night, so Jason & I both worked from home on Friday. It was nice to work in our sweats!!
This morning we took the pups to a nearby ballpark, which is mostly fenced in, so they got to run around without their leashes. They were in doggie heaven. I took some pictures of the happy campers:

We only had one casualty - we lost one of their toys in the snow. It's OK, it was a small price to pay for wearing the dogs out!
